Oft I wonder who were the ones

Who were once mine ?

Today, I have new bonds to cherish;

Today, I have new responsibilities.

I am flesh and blood, 

With a beating heart, 

With hormones that flow erratic, 

And emotions that go wild! 

I am expected to be impeccable, 

I am expected to be kind, 

I am expected to be strong, 

Despite my inner fights. 

I am a woman,

With all my vice. 

Amidst this blissful union, 

Where am I? 

Who am I? 

In the depth of darkness, 

Things often feel awry. 

I fumble to reclaim my identity,

 These questions unanswered-

 Wreak havoc in my mind,

 These answers are my right.
