Elusive Serenity
Elusive Serenity

Buried in the maliciousness of life
Hope was her weapon to strife
Overwhelmed by the peerage of a debacle
She knew no one could help her grasp the nettle,
Once she was spry, oblivious to the world
But the time was never hers
And the time was never still.
Soon as the clock ticked
Her morality slipped
She was left all alone in this diabolical land
None by her side
None in her mind
Had she paid more heed to her milieu
She would have known the difference between me and you.
The she laid her eyes on who she thought was her Prince Charming
Deluded herself in accepting him as the big bang of her life
She said to him,
"You may not know me, but I do
You may not care for me, but I do
You may not love me, but I do
If there weren’t any may not’s
There wouldn’t be an I do
Because knowing that you do would make my heart a may not"
Soon he became the light to her darkness
The petals to her flower
The lyrics to her song"
But perfection never lasts and then this happened,
Cold hearts, broken souls
Tears wept, burnt like coal
A relationship so platonically ideal
And so conceptually real
Something that meant to have a forever
Now left in the ruins of her mind
All she could think of was,
"Time used to stand still in your presence
Now the time passed even in your presence
You helped me fight my demons with just your presence
Has the time passed so fast that you itself are the demon of my present?
You kept my pretentious heart at your bay
Always close to your body as your ray
Now you’re just a moonlight cursed by the dame
On the brink of dementia as a facade
Maybe we were meant to have a forever
But you jeopardized everything making it a never
Had I known that you were a covenant never meant to be mine
I would have kept my heart in my own safe haven’’
Realization then struck her,
That the world is a sleazy place
No one would be your support
Not unless you become your own
She then came to terms with reality
That she shouldn’t be a Cinderella waiting for her Prince Charming
She should be her own Prince Charming
Fighting to lead her pack
Hope isn’t what she should be looking for
She should be creating hope
She needed to be the light to her darkness
She needed to be the petals to her own flower
She needed to be the lyrics to her song
She became a person not what the world wanted her to be
She became someone who creates hope, light and destiny
She created happiness
When she was supposed to be picking up her broken pieces
She created magnificence
When she was supposed to be cleaning her wounds
She created love
When she was supposed to be stitching her wounds
That’s all it was
Her anecdote of love and happiness
Which has now finally begun.
