Explicitly implicit

Words may be puzzling, 

Albeit they mean a lot! 

People have much to say;

Using words is an art! 

When I am being explicit - 

I say what I exactly mean;

I mean to say beyond what I say -  

For, I am being implicit. 

I am explicit, so you must 

Understand what I say;

I am implicit, so you must

Understand what I convey. 

My words carry meaning

Hence, I am explicit;

My words carry significance

When I am implicit. 

"I jumped out of my skin", I say! 

I am implicit;

How can I jump out of my skin? 

So, what do I mean?

I may say the same, 

When I am explicit -

"I was so surprised,

Oh God, I felt such fright!" 

Explicit and implicit join hands

Together they enhance 

The joy of language 

Is felt in its maze!
