We Were Not Ready For Good Bye

It began as a usual day

And with one phone call, it all went gray.

The next few days went by in blur

Filled with tears, hugs, and advisable words.

Nothing changed the facts, didn't do a thing.

They couldn't bring you back or take away the sting.

During the day we had to be strong

We tried so hard to show that nothing is wrong.

But at dark, our tears start to flow,

As we could not accept your sudden go

People keep asking if we are okay,

The answer is no but its yes we say.

Some days the pain is stronger,

It makes us sick and weak.

As we can't take this much longer,

We just sit there and weep.

It just felt so unreal to us mainly me.

It couldn't be right; how could it be?

We have so much pain in our heart,

Because we were not ready for a new start.
