The Mischief of My Homework
The Mischief of My Homework
I opened my notebook to do some math,
But my pencil ran off — it had its own path!
The eraser rolled under the cat’s tiny paw,
While my ruler flew straight out the door!
The pen started dancing, the sharpener sang,
The papers all twirled, it was quite the bang.
My chair jumped up and did a little spin,
While my backpack sneezed — it was full of tin!
The calculator shouted, “I quit this game!”
The stapler just laughed and called me by name.
Even my notebook got tired of my face,
It hid behind curtains in a sneaky place.
My lunchbox joined in, tossing sandwiches high,
The juice did a backflip — I can’t even lie!
The clock waved its hands like it didn’t care,
And the floor got sticky with invisible air.
I gave up on homework, I gave up on rules,
Even my slippers were acting like fools.
So I grabbed my cat, my dog, and my hat,
And ran from the classroom — and never came back!
