Shades of Personality on Holi

The raindrops from the clouds greets us on the ground

Colors from the rainbow are down with us and around.

On this day of colors and sweets

I see different people who'd make perfect memes and tweets.

First there's that group of overexcited boys

ready in advance with their balloons and gun toys.

They'll find the least eco-friendly colors to make sure

that that favorite white tee of yours is ruined beyond cure!

Some there are who only ever cared

to peep into kitchens to see what's being prepared

Gujiyas and Malpuas straight out of hot oil

Don't forget those jalebis-that twist and turn and coil.

Then there's the kind who'll hide under their blanket

they wouldn't risk their good looks, getting stained or wet.

Although their minds will try to pull them out

they'll resist the urge by greeting you with a shout.

Here's a rare one, but one I love to see

the rich kid who even goes for a Holi shopping spree!

And gets the biggest balloons and fanciest gun

Now it's him against everyone, the fun's just begun!

Don't forget the kind who'll be guilty of ruining the planet

they'll say, "Let's have a dry holi, not one that's wet"

They play without water and only eco-friendly color

and come up with more ideas to make the day duller.

Then there's that excuse maker who'll give reasons a hundred or few

He'll say," I have to go to the relatives or to some fictional job interview!"

But we know very well how to deal with inexperienced colts like this

within the next few minutes, the wettest back will be his!
