Oh My Media!!!!!!!

I wake up each day to the news

Only to lose my cool and brain fuse.

A simple accident made to sound

Like a treacherous murder with conspiracies profound.

 

The wisest people made to work like

All they're paid for is screaming nuisance on a mic.

We commoners rely on them to know

Which person and which nations are actually in a row.

 

But Murders and celeb weddings are all that interest them

And stories of corrupt politicians or some other mayhem.

I sit with aching ears and a drowsy countenance

Waiting for the anchor to get on the other side of the fence.

 

All day, all night they go on and about

Until I finally get annoyed and shout.

Why don't you make some proper use of your power

And stop panic-striking people while they're having a shower.

 

Emergency and breaking news is all they say

For this rubbish not a penny I'd pay

If you think of it, there's very less useful stuff

Majority of their words are exaggeration and bluff

 

Then again this power they shouldn't abuse

Their power after all could do without abstruse.

If they really want to help us, they can give

Values and good news and each day a better reason to live.

 

If you take today's corona example to see

In context to who are not as well to do as we,

Each man and woman and child does know

The causes and symptoms and corona's spread and flow.

 

Doesn't that put you into a thinking parade

That a complicated matter of a high scientific grade

To which even the most educated have no solution

Are known to the poor as an evident problem as pollution

 

Think about it deeply for some time

As you listen to me weave this rhyme

 

If the media can educate the illiterate about a disease so new

They can even use this to spread information- useful to me and you

And put up shows of peace and harmony not war

And probably tell us only when corona has a true, proven cure!!!!!!!!!!!!
