The Evening Beauty
The Evening Beauty
It was a beautiful evening,
As I passed by the crop field
I saw a sight for sore eyes
A beautiful woman sitting
All by herself on the grass
As the wind blew, her hair
Covered her face
She tucked it behind her ears
And then I saw her eyes,
They were blue and very deep
Just like the ocean
As though a ton of secrets
Were buried within
But I felt a little
Sting in my heart
When I saw a tear drop
Roll down her flushed cheeks
Her eyelashes were long and thick
Her nose was a deep shade of red
She wiped her tears
A faint smile forming on her lips
As she stared into the infinite sky
The sky which resembled her pink lips
She was beautiful, yet sad
There was something painful
About her smile
I couldn’t stay there long
But I kept thinking of
Reasons for her sadness
Well, I guess all beautiful things have
Something painful within…
