ALL I THINK OF IS HIM

I lay almost lifeless on my bed

Thinking of the happy times

I have had in my life

The day I met him,

The sun’s overwhelming light

Fell on us and embraced us

The touch of the breeze

Was so much softer like

The feel of his hands

His smile was breath-taking

Like the flowering cherry

In the magical time of spring

And then that rainy day

Our souls danced together

To the music by the drizzle, of love

With my tresses curled in his fingers

I look at him for the last time and

Close my eyes ready for the darkness

He engulfed me in his arms

And said- “life is unfair”

For, I had now gone far away

His eyes glistened in the moonlight

With tears that soaked my palm

As the stars faded into the twilight

I wasn’t destined for one

But he gave me a forever

Only in the numbered days

Now as I walk up the stairs

In the path of eternity

All I think of is him….
