Shakuntala
Shakuntala
Once upon a time the diva was born to a pious sage Vishwamitra and Menaka -a beautiful nymph sent by Indra from heaven.
Sage Kanwa adopted and named her Shakuntala, an incarnation of purity in blood and skin.
An innocent little deer always hooked up to her enchanted by her youthful radiance.
In front of her flawless beauty, even the moon could not stand a chance.
Dushyant, the king of Hastinapur got captivated by this elegance surrounded by the wilderness
Hence love grew between Shakuntala and Dushyant of which the deer was the only witness
When Dushyant denied his love for his pregnant beloved, the deer alone was her constant companion.
Shakuntala would muster courage to bring her unborn child to this world no matter how she was broken by Dushyant's pitiful rejection...
The deer remained with her and helped her to overcome the tragic situation...
Thus Bharat was born to Shakuntala and a curse free Dushyant accepted both of them as his wife and son.
How far the dark clouds of time could hide the one who took the nation by storm?
For all humans, an emerging king Bharat's tale of virtue and valour was inimitable.
Following his path, a great country finds it's name as Bharat which is distinct and the most suitable.
Irrespective of social taboo Shakuntala raised the child as a strong single mother
With her true love for Dushyant she rose to a status of Goddess rest she didn't even bother.
Choosing Duty over fantasy is the crucial message from this legend in our history.
