The Messages

It's 2:30AM. Aksha says it all.

You ruined my life. You destroyed my dreams. You made me play with my family and friends. I lied for you. And in return, what all I have gotten is this pain. Hell with you. God won't forgive sins you have committed with me. I thought you were my love of life, you were the one who will love me endlessly. All my hopes and dreams have been faded. Why did you do that? Why would you do that? You have never been in love with me. All you wanted a fresh meat to use and throw. You did it all. Now what is left for me is to die. Suicide is the only way. I am such a fool that I have loved you. Biggest mistake of my life. Only if I die, I might find peace. Oh God, such a fool I am.

Mayank is the one who is going to read it when he wakes up in the morning. He did nothing wrong but he slept early without wishing good night to Aksha. He has really no idea, at this hour of 2:30AM.

Rani aunty knocks the door and enters the room. Messy room as it is. And Rani starts to sweeping. She started humming and try to call Mayank up once, or twice. Mayank can hardly realise and asks for tea and time.

7:30AM it is!

Mayank slowly opens his eyes and look at the phone. Its switch off.

Anyway he charged it and checked for morning notifications from social media world. Scrolling and scrolling. 

And those messages shocked him. He immediately calls her. While ringing the phone, he tries to recall the last conversation. Anything unusual would have shaken his morning face, but there's not any. He even checked his condoms below his pillow to assure the count.

7 missed calls, yet Aksha is nowhere to pick his call.

He tries to call Seema, her sister. She picked it up with a sleepy voice and assures that she will go and check her personally. 

Seema went to her room and knocked the door while Mayank is over the phone listening carefully.

What happened, Seema! Why are you disturbing me this early?

Talk to Mayank. He asked me to knock you up!

Yes, Mayu what happened?

What was that? Your texts. I thought you had done something terrible. What happened last night?

You did it to me. Today I have an exam at 10 AM, then I will go shopping with Reeta and Rohit. Rohit will help me uploading my youtube vlogs and, we will talk. I love you, babe, wish me luck for the day.

What?

Mayank was like, shocked. She hanged up the phone and He bumped into the bed. Mayank is awake but doesn't know what to say or think.

Rani enters with the tea in hand.

Before she say something, she can realise something happened to Mayank. So she asked casually.

Mayank takes the tea and explains the matter.

"Teenagers these days!" Rani exclaimed.

Her sister committed suicide 5 years back, because she thought she will get pregnant by the touch of her school friend. She didn't share her mental thoughts and feelings with anyone. Oneday, she wrote a letter and jump into the well. Foolish she was, whole family cried. People in the village say, someone possessed her and impregnated her, that's why she was unable to share a thing. They lost a soul.

Rani praises him and says, she'll be there always for this brother. And she asks him to bring Aksha home once. She'll sort it out for them.

Deep inside Mayank knows, Aksha is 20 days late by her month. But how he will ask for help! Whom he will approach!
