He stood staring at her for 15 minutes and then suddenly disappeared. Every day, since last 3 months, Jayeta notices the same thing repeatedly. What does this man want? If he wanted to say something he could have met her and asked.

Jayeta was wondering what to do? She told Ramesh about it. " I think he likes you", he smirked. " Why dont you ask him". She finally decided to do that. She looked out of her window and as usual the man was staring at her exactly at 5 in the evening when she would come to the verandah to have coffee.

She got up, came down and greeted him. He came inside the house and then she asked, " Why do you keep looking at me everyday at the same time ". He did not say anything but looked at her and smiled. Then got up and left her house. She told her mother about this matter. Then, her mom agreed to go to the verandah with her that evening. He came again and this time her mom was staring at him.

She came down and went out to bring him in. "When did you come back? Where have you been?", tears rolled down her eyes. " Somewhere between life and death. Keep this with you", he gave her a packet and left.

" What happened ? Why are you crying?".

" The man who died in a plane crash 10 years back. Dead for all but alive for us."

" Who is he?", asked Jayeta.

After a long silence her mother said," Your biological father Prasun Banerjee who never wanted you to know that you are his heir."

"My father? But you mean that your husband is not my biological father?".

"Yes. When your father went into a coma I was pregnant and was forced by my parents to marry your father who had promised to bear the expenses of keeping your father alive and give you and me a good life."

"I din know .. he was back", mother said while weeping. Jayeta looked out and saw the figure slowly disappearing in the dark. She opened the packet and her hands were shaking, "Mom!". The toe tag fell from her hand which read
