Lost in the forest, unsure where to go, I found myself wandering under the tall trees. It was past midnight, the night wild yet eerily still, the cold breeze whispering against my skin as fearful thoughts tangled in my mind.

Amidst the darkness, I heard it, a rustling of leaves, followed by the gradual approach of footsteps. My breath hitched, and my teeth clattered with growing unease. But to my surprise, stepping out from behind a tree stood a stunning figure, six feet tall, young, and elegantly dressed in an outstanding office suit. His skin was fair, his features sharp, and his eyes, a mesmerizing blend of blue and brown, held a quiet relief.

With a welcoming, contagious smile, he spoke, his voice smooth and reassuring. "Oh, what a lucky man I am to see a lovely lady in this lovely weather, under this starry sky. I feel blessed."

A blush crept onto my cheeks, my lips betraying me with a smile, my hopeful eyes reflecting the flickering starlight. But just as quickly, my senses jolted me back to reality. Who was this stranger? What was he doing here? Was he a threat or a serendipitous twist of fate?

Sensing my hesitation, he spoke again, his words dripping with charm. "If the moon had a twin, I’m certain she would be standing right in front of me."

Something about him made me forget my fears, as if he instinctively knew how to protect the fragile smiles hidden behind my teary eyes. So, I played along. "Yes," I said, meeting his gaze, "I am the moon’s twin, and I’ve come to rescue you from this enchanted forest."

For a moment, his breath hitched his heart, I was sure, had skipped a beat. And just like that, our conversation became unstoppable.

With effortless grace, he began gathering wood for a bonfire. Soon, the flames crackled, enlightening our own little world amidst the darkness. As if the night itself conspired in our favor, he turned out to be an incredible singer, his voice weaving magic into the cold air. We danced to his beats, our laughter mingling with the warmth of the fire. He arranged broken tree trunks into makeshift seats, ensuring we felt not just the warmth of the flames, but also the quiet comfort of each other’s presence.

We spoke of everything intellectual musings, playful humor, shared dreams and in those fleeting moments, nothing else existed.

He was THE ONE. And I was THE ONE in his universe.

Or perhaps, it was just my insecurities speaking.

That lost, terrifying night could have been my most unfortunate, my most regrettable. But fate had other plans. In the heart of the unknown, I met a beautiful soul one who turned fear into magic, and loneliness into something extraordinary.
