" Mummy, did you vote?" asked Reyan.

" Arre, it's ok. I don't want to go. My head is aching badly", Madhu scoffed.

" Don't do this. It's our responsibility as an Indian citizen to vote and choose the government ", retorted Reyan.

" Son, don't be so philosophical. If I don't vote, the Government will not change. My vote doesn't matter", said Madhu and went to her room.

Reyan was surprised by the indifferent attitude, his mother showed. The clock had struck 3.

" Can we talk to Mrs. Madhu Singh", asked the person, who looked like some gazetted officer.

" I have been sent by the corporate office. We came to know that she didn't vote and this is a crime. She will have to come to the office", he said.

Madhu felt too afraid to go out of her room but nothing could have salvaged the situation now. Wish she would have gone and voted.

' Tannnnnn.........', some sound shook her from a deep slumber. Madhu was sweating profusely. She checked the time; still, another hour was remaining to vote.

" Reyan, now I am feeling better. Take me along, I will vote", shouted Madhu.
