"It's time to go, we are already getting late", shouted Sumitra.

Soon, Rita came out of her room; she was holding little Manisha's Hand.

" Arre, why you are taking her along? Leave her behind, she will trouble us. " Sumitra Devi expressed her displeasure.

Rita reluctantly left little girl's hand and left along with her mother in law.

Soon, they reached the place she was wary of; ABC MATERNITY HOSPITAL. Unwillingly she entered inside.

"Maaji, I will finish the procedure in ten mins. You just do the needful", giggled Dr. Katoch.

Don't worry Doctor babu. Can't you finish this problem forever?" asked Sumitra Devi.

Wish I could. But I can just pray that next time you are blessed with a grandson. Anyways, I will go to the procedure room now", saying this, Dr. Katoch left the cabin.

One week had passed but Rita was still sad. She was sad and gloomy. She wondered how a father could be so heartless that he allowed his mother for aborting his unborn baby?

" So what? She is right. Already you have given me that girl who is good for nothing. What would I do with the other? Remember Rita, next time, I need a son", answered Tajesh, a blatant representative of patriarchy.

Rita felt suffocated and disgusted.

Two days later, Sumitra and Tajesh were left perplexed when they saw Rita holding a suitcase and Manisha's hand.

"Where are you going", asked Tajesh in a dominating and stern voice.

Rita had already decided her destiny. She didn't feel frightened for the first time.

"Not any more Mr. Husband. I can't stay with you and in this house" replied a firm Rita.

She took out the symbol of her wedding; the ring and kept it on the table.

Leaving the confused mother-son duo, the evolved mother left with her shadow; her Manisha. The house was broken but for her and Manisha's betterment.
