That Awful Situation

"Rohit, get up. It's already 6.15", yelled Manasi.

After much persuasion, Rohit got up and entered the bathroom.

"Mumma, please help me. There is no water. I want to wash my hands", screamed Rohit.

A bit surprised Manasi checked the taps; the water was indeed not there. "How did the water get finished so early?" she wondered.

She somehow used filter water for daily chores but that wasn't enough.

There wasn't any water around. No household had the water. Rohit even couldn't fill his water bottle; the RO water had finished too.

The condition was grave. She tried to call up at the maintenance office so that they could turn the water supply on.

"Mam, sorry but we are facing a terrible problem. There is no water in the reserve. How is this possible? I don't know", came the reply from the other side.

It had been just three hours of water shortage but it seemed like an eternity to Manasi and the colony residents. Everyone was worried and clueless about the existing situation.

Tring tring tring..............

The noise of alarm clock woke Manasi off so called troubling slumber.

it took her a while to realise that the awful and frightening condition she went through was just a dream.

"Thank God. But the dream was also an alarm for us to act upon" she thought.

"Rohit. Turn off the tap. Don't waste water." Today onwards, we are going to save water and she kisses Rohit on his forehead.

She had got the biggest lesson!
