Nimi, Be Mine

The college football tournaments had already begun. It was the day for the match between English Department and the Accounts department. Nimi, the beautiful girl with big eyes sat on the bench to the East of the ground. She always had admired Sonu for his courage in answering in the class. Now, Sonu was playing on the ground for the English department. Nimi had just heard about Sonu and never seen his attitude in the class. It was Neha, the classmate of Sonu who had always praised Sonu in front of her. Nimi wasn't interested in Sonu and yet wanted to see him for the praises she had heard. She was in the Accounts department and wished that her team win. 

Nimi was never interested in Sports and didn't know about football well. What she was more interested in in the match was the involvement of Sonu in the ground. She was not attracted to him for his looks but something else. His face was not that good. He wasn't tall. But she really wanted to meet him. By half time, the score recorded-English:1 goal and Accounts:0 goals. Nimi didn't understand about the goal but she had seen the English team rejoicing about the ball had hit the net of Accounts goal post. 

As Nimi sat waiting for the second half of the game to begin, someone tapped her on the shoulder and she turned back only to find Neha. She had just come there after seeing her from the West side of the ground. Nimi was bored watching alone but now she had a companion. She was happier. Neha asked her if she enjoyed the game. Nimi smiled and replied that she didn't understand what was going on. Neha was astonished to hear that. She sat beside Nimi and told her how Sonu had scored a goal and her team was leading in the game. This made Nimi uncomfortable both because of her team losing and all because of Sonu.

Neha seemed to enjoy the game but Nimi seemed to be in a pensive mood. God knows why but she could not take her eyes off Sonu. She was beautiful and knew that she deserved more than Sonu but something was there that pulled her towards him. Meanwhile, Neha was observing her behavior. She knew that Nimi had developed some liking for Sonu. She didn't say anything to Nimi and left her to her thoughts. Neha had appreciated Sonu in front of Nimi but never told her that Sonu had a liking for her. She waited for destiny to make those love birds meet. 

The match ended finally with a scoreline of 1-0. English had won the match. Sonu was the hero of the match. Neha called Sonu. Sonu was happy to win the match. He was sweating and each drop of sweat was the proof of his effort. Sonu came quickly as Neha was a good friend of his. Neha congratulated Sonu. Nimi had started blushing. Her heart was beating at an unusual rate. The world had stopped for her. Neha told Nimi to meet her friend Sonu. Nimi's eyes met Sonu's and there were dozens of emotions working. Neha knew that destiny had found its way. Sonu couldn't wait to hear Nimi's voice. She sweetly said, "Congratulations! " Sonu replied with a thank you. Nimi continued"I.. I... I..!" She could not speak further. Sonu felt that the entire world had frozen and come to a standstill. He could see only Nimi and hear only her voice. Sonu could control himself and directly spoke out, "Nimi, Be Mine! " Sonu had spoken her heart out. She was elated and her joy knew no bounds. They smiled and smiled...
