I Feel So Special

"How did you know about my birthday? " She messaged him. Sonu smiled at the message and gave a quick reply, "Just like that".It was the previous night that Sonu had gone through Nimi's Instagram profile and found that her birthday was on the very next day. Sonu did not have much interest in her and yet he had messaged her a wonderful birthday message. Nimi had secretly admired the multi-talented boy and a single message made her heartbeat at an unfamiliar rate. 

It is rightly said that at times, destiny must be given chance for people to meet. In the life of the duo, destiny was positively working. Sonu's scrolling her profile itself was a part of destiny. Thus, the story had begun between them. No one had imagined that things would begin in this way. Whatever was coming on the way seemed to have had been scripted. Nimi gained enough confidence to invite Sonu to her party. Her party was unique. She called no one except Sonu. He was not aware of the fact that he was the only guest of Nimi. She had just messaged him to turn up at JASN restaurant at 6:30 pm in the evening. 

Time passed soon. Sonu got ready in his best clothes. He bought a photo frame and a birthday card from the nearest gift store to the restaurant. Nimi was in her new red dress which her mom had selected for her the previous Sunday. She was looking beautiful with the little makeup she had used. Sonu smiled eagerly waiting for Nimi. She blushed and he wished her a birthday again. Sonu sat beside her and the first question he framed was "Am I too early? " Nimi smiled and said that it was only them and no one else was coming. For Sonu, it was like a huge piece of land disappearing underneath his shoes. He could not understand how he should react. Nimi could easily grasp what he had in his mind.

Nimi was an intelligent girl and she knew well about handling situations. She began, "I know that it is not good to call someone without any prior information but... but... " And she became silent. Sonu by this time had gained his consciousness again. She felt guilty and so he came to her rescue. "It's fine", he said and continued, "This is the first time that I feel so special, Thank you. Please don't feel guilty and I tell you, you won't regret it. This is going to be the best birthday of your life! " They now swore to each other to be good friends and never to part again. Some stories indeed begin in an awkward way but build up to unbreakable ones. Theirs too began as friends and ended as parents of two lovely children, a boy, and a girl.
