My belief in ghosts

My belief in ghosts

I do not believe in ghosts. But everything changed since that day. That night father had a shift and I was all alone. Father specifically told,” Do not go in that forbidden, spooky house.” He knew well

that I would do anything as I did not fear.

My father left at night all went well in the start. I suddenly realized that I had to get a packet of

bread, just down the lane, beside the old abandoned house. As I passed down the house, a voice

inside me called out my name, saying to explore that house.

I tried my best to stay put on my lane but couldn't help it. I went on a little expedition to that

forbidden house The house was unlocked, as usual. I kept my first step in and was good till now. I

switched on the flashlight of my phone.

All was well organised, nothing spooky at all. Nothing feared me but all of a sudden my phone's

flash went off. The side table near the moth-eaten sofa started bobbling. The vase on the table fell

and broke with a loud thud.

I started to panic, chills went down my spine. Everything started to shake. I went near the window

and the street lights started flicking to. All was pale, I heard someone laughing and at the same time someone screaming. I couldn't help myself. I was so traumatized that I seemed to be stuck on the ground where I stood. I started trembling. I wanted to yell but my voice failed me. Helpless, I just squatted where I stood and cried. Waves of fear gripped me.

I fell asleep that night laid on that very place I was stuck. All seemed to be pleasant and nice now.

Then I heard the voice of my father's vehicle alerting me. I ran to the backyard trying to not be

noticed by my father.

I ran back, sat quickly on the sofa showing that I was comfortably sitting since morning, I switched

on the television and saw that there was an earthquake in the next neighbourhood, which was the

exact reason everything was shaking. I was startled. Now when I look back to this time, I feel

like it is a bitter pill to swallow. I believe in ghosts now though it was only an earthquake.
