My first parachute drop experience

My first parachute drop experience

Jump!!!! The instructor barked at me. His words felt like a dagger in my heart. After an agonizing long minute, he again furiously bellowed at me. His temper was a hurricane wipping through the plane, scaring each and everyone.

My heart skipped a beat, it was pounding like a drum. But after few minutes, courage gathered around me like a shining armour, protecting me from my frightened and afraid soul. It didn't take long to jump after my courage gathered..and then it was my first jump!

As my body pushed the wind beneath myself, my nerves made me nervous. The darkness silvered away. Finally, my nerves stopped making me anxious. The only thing I was still afraid of was pressing the button. Would I be able to press it at the exact time? What if it doesn't open and I pass away? Negative thoughts like these roamed and travelled deep in my mind.

It was about time now, to press the button. I pressed the button but it wasn't opening . I started panicking. Again I pressed the button, recalling and recollecting my tutorials before the jump. To my astonishment, the parachute opened. I was flabbergasted. It was like a canopy hovering over my head.

At last, I started enjoying the atmosphere. The wind whistled and hissed in my ears. The rising sun had cast a rosy hue across the morning sky. Its golden fingers scattering in each and every direction. The colour was repellant, almost revolting; a smouldering, unclean yellow, strangely faded by the slow turning sunlight. It was a dull yet lurid orange in some places, a sickly sulfur tint in others.

I was slowly pulled towards the ground like a magnet, with a smooth landing. After the long drop, my body collapsed in the grass with tired and burning muscles. The grass tickled my skin and sweat cooled my brow.

After all, it was a fun-filled, lovely and fabulous parachute drop experience.
