This is a story based on real-life incidents that happened to someone close to our family. The storyline is very simple and a bit casual and humorous too.

Rishi was busy with his job amidst the lockdown and now, even busier due to the impending orders that his Office was to re-open shortly. Life had been quite comfortable due to the work from home option. He got to spend a good time with his grandparents and parents as well as his siblings. Apart from that, he had a good bank balance now as his expenses were limited all this time Like many of his friends and family members Rishi wanted this to continue but, alas what could he do? His parents were hell-bent on fixing his marriage as early as possible. He was already 28 years of age and looking for a suitable (in all aspects) bride was a big task understood by him recently. Few of his friends were already married and living happily. Now let us come to the main part of this plot. Rishi's father had selected a girl who according to him would make the best bride to his son in all aspects. She was educated, good-looking, and belonged to a family that had doctors and engineers. Meaning they too were educated and employed. Rishi's father was a Government employee and his mother was a high school teacher. His extended family consisted of employees and doctors as well.

So, the wavelength would match. Based on this theory Risabh had to see the bride in waiting in the next week and his marriage would be fixed at the earliest. That is what all elders in the family were eagerly waiting for. With crossed fingers, they made this suggestion to Risabh and he agreed under one condition that he would meet the girl only if accompanied by his youngest Uncle( maternal uncle,- mom's brother). He was a lawyer and was 6 years elder than Risabh. So, finally, it was decided that Risabh along with his uncle would be going to the girl's house the next week. With butterflies in his stomach,Risabh dressed in his best attire and went to the girl's house on the stipulated day and time. After the initial formalities like introducing one another present there, the table was loaded with all types of snacks and drinks. Rishabh's uncle suggested that the girl should be invited to the room where all were assembled. The girl's younger sister immediately went to the adjacent room and came along with a demure, shy girl who was good in looks. She was introduced as Nayana. She wished Risabh and his uncle with folded hands and was to be seated for further rounds of questions and other rounds that are considered normal. Suddenly Risabh's uncle realized that whatever questions he may ask the girl would put her in trouble it would not feel like answering which thereby would be a kind of embarrassment to both sides sitting there. So, very quickly he made a suggestion that he would like to talk to the girl separately if they had no objection. Few of the elders gave a suspicious look at him. But, were forced to keep quiet as the parents of the girl had no objection to this whatsoever.

Now, the girl was sent to the adjacent room followed by Risabh's uncle. Once in the room, the trays of snacks and drinks too followed them. The girl sat in the opposite chair after greeting him with folded hands as is our culture. She was evidently feeling shy and tense as per her body language. Shyam ( Risabh's uncle) felt the need to make her comfortable and he wanted the marriage to happen as everything was fine as per his understanding. They had a talk that lasted for about an hour and he immediately expressed his opinion which was a big 'Yes'. The girl was extremely happy and she smiled and smiled at Shyam. He comes out of the room with a big smiling face to find all the near and dear ones of the girl were waiting with bated breath.     All of them understood that the meeting was good and the result I mean the Uncle of the would-be groom had given a green signal to the match and everything was fine. Now it was the celebration time with each one congratulating one another and before Shyam could say anything a huge piece of the sweet dish( barfi) was stuffed in his mouth by an elderly looking person. It was a very happy moment for all presents there.

In a month's time, the marriage was solemnized and all were comfortable in their own place. But,Risabh had one doubt that was wavering in his mind as to what was the discussion Shyam and the to-be bride had in the room that yielded such a positive response and result that is the marriage got fixed and happened as well. After repeated questioning for the same Shyam tried to avoid answering lest everyone specially Risabh would trash him( fun). But, When he no longer could evade the question he simply said both of their wavelengths match perfectly well. When asked again what wavelength he was talking Shyam answered it as regarding the IQ. It took some time for Risabh to get the point he was talking about and then he continued asking how Shyam was able to analyse her IQ and how it matched his IQ. To this Shyam answered slyly almost scared of the expected reaction that Risabh would show but with no option he said yes, since I know Risabh's IQ I asked a few questions to the girl to which her answers were almost all wrong, and that is when I understood they will make a good match. On hearing this Risabh even though took some time to respond (IQ you see) he started hitting his uncle of course not to hurt him but to express his disagreement with what he said. All others started laughing loudly which irritated Risabh even more. But, he calmed down and joined the others too in laughter. Shyam felt what he did was the best in bringing two like-minded people together that will make them happy as their wavelengths will match. He had a smile on his face thinking about how a saree looks beautiful only with a matching blouse and how a suit will be good with a coat and boots. Of course, these are only a few matches that can be quoted. Marriages are definitely made in heaven but on earth, we need people who are like-minded to think alike and behave alike. Life will be a smooth sailing boat.
