Dear diary,

Today's write up is about an incident we may have experienced some time. The alarm rang loudly and Bhama woke up feeling sleepy and annoyed. She saw the time and it was already 7 am. She had to wake up at 5:30 am as she had to prepare lunch for her husband. She forgot to set the alarm and she ran to the kitchen without even doing her morning routine.

Bhama saw her mother in law preparing a lunch box for her and her son. She had already cooked. "Amma, I will pack the food now." "As if I cant pack, when I have cooked everything, I will pack it as well." She placed the lunch box so gently that the whole table shook!!

Bhama knew that she could not retort and she so she backed off. When Rajesh came to the breakfast table there was pin-drop silence and in that instant, he knew that it was a danger zone. He quickly grabbed his lunch box and pretended to be very late. He drank his coffee, ate the idlis and was about to walk towards the sink to wash his hands when his mom sprang to her feet, "You used to love my cooking earlier, now you seem to like only your wife's cooking." "Amma, you know I love what you make. the idlies were so soft, it literally melted in my mouth", as he said this he noticed the anger flare upon his wife's face.

Bhama said, "Good for me, from now onwards ask Amma to cook everyday, Don't you dare ask for continental food anymore". "Bhama, you know Amma is a heart patient yet she woke up early and cooked so much for us. She is good at making South Indian food and you are good at Continental so I don't think there is any comparison at all."

"I know you will always support your wife, it's OK. Your Appa never cared for me so I can't expect you to care. It just that my fate that I am still alive and that I decided to help out this morning." " It is always your house and your kitchen Amma, I am always the outsider. I am getting late for work. Rajesh, can we go or you want to take leave and enjoy your Amma's food?"

Rajesh quietly took the car keys and left with his tiffin box but before he stepped out of the house he announced it loudly that he will come home early in the evening and take them all out for dinner. This brought a secret smile on all their faces. As the door closed, Bhama said: "I want to eat North Indian this evening, I hope that's good for you." Rajesh just nodded.

We seem to be losing our patience, aren't we? We are no longer willing to be tolerant and understanding and this pretty much leads to breakups and a bitter atmosphere at home. I urge my readers to think as to how can we bring back some values into our life so that we cultivate beautiful relationships that last lifetimes...
