Happiness?????

I was waiting for Kartik in the Basement parking area after completing my night shift in office, watching an interview of my favorite Tv star on YouTube on my mobile. The lift door opened & as Kartik came out of the lift I asked 'Tell me the alternate plan bro, I am struggling in this company, when I will be happy like you'.

According to me, Kartik's life was perfect, he owned a 3bhk home, a red color swift car which he recently bought. He had a beautiful wife & both of them were blessed with a baby girl last month. By God's grace his parents were healthy & happy to see their son's progress. Kartik was working for the past 8 years whereas I joined the company few months back as a fresher. I was struggling in my life trying to find stability & happiness. The job paid me enough but inner satisfaction & happiness was missing.

To my question Kartik replied 'You really don't know what the actual struggle is '. As he wore helmet & sat on the bike, he continued 'You know Alok, in my childhood days 7 of us that is my grandma, grandpa, mom, dad, me & 2 of my sister's used to live in a rented house which just had 1 room with an attached bathroom. We used to have only one meal in a day due to money shortage & at night few of us used to sleep in bathroom due to space constraints'. Kartik started the bike & as I sat on the rear seat he told me something that struck me really hard, 'You know Alok, though life was tough that time but those were the happiest days'.
