Doctor

It is the story of my elder friend who was my neighbor too, three to four years older than me. When I was in eighth class, he appeared in the tenth school Board examination. He was too poor in mathematics. It wasn’t a piece of cake to pass the tenth board examination of the old syllabus. His father was worried about his future. we used to play games in his home. His father frequently expressed deep concern about his tenth school Board examination to me. If he couldn’t pass this examination in the near future, then all paths of his career would be closed forever. He's concerned about his son was justified because he was the eldest son. If he is a failure he could not set any ideal for his younger brother and sister. His father advised me to spent some time with him so that he would also study with me. I took his advice sincerely. we used to study together for some time instead of spending time in the games. He also responded to me, then I have seen his mathematics book. I came to know that I have studied almost this portion. When I have seen his board mathematics paper. I came to know that without preparation, I could solve this paper to achieve more than eighty percent marks. Then I thought that he required only thirty-five percent marks for passing. He has already cleared all the papers except mathematic.

Then, I talked with my friend. I asked him. Are you ready to learn mathematic from me ?. Firstly, he hesitated to do so, he thought that the coaching teacher couldn’t pass him, how could my younger friend do this miracle. when I kept this proposal to him, He didn’t straightway refuse it. Instead of accepting it, he used to ask me the solution whenever he faces a problem in solving the question of mathematic. I used to help him in such events. While helping him, I was able to understand his basic difficulties in mathematics. Then firstly I tried to teach him basic facts. After teaching him the basics of new mathematics. I found that his confidence level in tackling the problem was grown enough. I have noticed that his interest in mathematic was slowly but steadily increasing. His father was also pleased with my work and his son’s interest in study. I asked his father, Let his son appear for the coming supplementary board examination. His father suggested that I wanted to be him for the next examination to be held in summer instead of winter. I told him that I might be very busy at that time. As I have to prepare for my ninth class school examination. I might not able to spare time for my loving friend during summer due to preparation. I told him that He required only 35 percent marks for clearing the board examination. I was sure that he was capable of scoring at least fifty percent marks on the paper. It was more than enough. He asked me are sure about it?. I said, Yes, how it was possible, I replied to him that he solved so many papers of the previous examination in my presence, he scored more than sixty percent average marks in the solved papers. I have further seen that there was an only repetition of questions with little change of numbers and letters. He agreed with me. And asked his son to appear for this winter supplementary board examination. He appeared for the examination. I suggested he go for the questions which he feels very easy. Didn’t copy anybody. But write down the answer to each solved question in front of the question on the paper. He followed my sincere suggestion in the examination. After examination, we solved his paper. we found that his fifty percent answer and method of solving were correct. I told him confidently that he would pass the tenth board school examination certainly. You could choose what to do later. He told me that he was not good at mathematics. I would choose another traditional profession. Then he decided to be a homeopathic doctor like his uncle.

As expected he passed successfully the examination when the result was declared. His family started thinking about what to do next ?. As he desired earlier he tried Homeopathic courses in different colleges. Since He had taken a number of attempts to pass the school board examination. His name always was on the waiting list in all most colleges. He had to wait for admission still the waiting gets cleared. Anyhow at last he got admission to a newly opened Homeopathic college. The entire family was very happy because one of the family members was going to be a doctor.

He started going to college sincerely. He always discusses with me the biology subject. I know that subject as it was compulsory in our school board examination. He has completed the Homeopathic syllabus. After completion of a four-year course successfully. He became a Homeopathic doctor. Then he tried for registration as per norms by doing practice under the registered doctor. Later he received the registration. Then he started his practice in nearby villages.

During that period, I also completed my graduation in science. As I have got confidence by teaching my elder friend. I wanted to be a lecturer in the future somewhere from my native. Then I wanted to appear for the UPSC examination. That is why I went for post-graduation in mathematics.

My school classmate who was open merit in the school examination left our school. He took admission at district level junior college for his 12th board examination. He works hard there and stood merit in higher secondary school board examination. He wanted to be an Allopathic doctor. He had passed the MBBS course and then did his MD. Fortunately. He started his practice in a big city. He was a well-known heart specialist in the city. He required some medical assistant in his profession. My elder friend came to know about this requirement. He decided to make hay while the sun is shining. Both of them were oddballs to each other. He Made a long story short to my doctor friend about me. Then he asked him to be his assistant in his big reputed hospital. Then he started working with him in the hospital, and in spare time doing his private practice. He used to tell these things to me whenever he met me. Now I am happy that I couldn’t achieve or fulfill my dream. But my aid to my friend helps him to be a doctor. He is very happy with his profession and family. I feel proud of him.
