In a school, children of all ages, say age 6 to 16, were supposed to attend a morning assembly exclusively on life skills imparted by visiting professionals arranged by the school management. The school management felt the need of imparting life skills in today's upcoming children and youth. They are possessing only bookish knowledge, but lack any practical knowledge.

Knowledge is of three types. Bookish knowledge, General knowledge, Practical knowledge.

Today's children lack practical knowledge.

Bookish knowledge alone is not enough. There are many life skills that do not appear in text books. One has to learn such values only in day to day living.

The first teacher for a child is the MOTHER.

At home as the child keeps reaching the age 5 or so, he or she already picks up few basic values from parents, either observing the parents, or parents teaching the child. These values can be like, primarily fold hand near god's photo, altar at home, teach value based poems and songs, bring a belief that God exists, speak truth, have good manners, respect elders, obey parents, etc.

In the later ages, as the child starts going to school, values like don't copy, maintain silence, talk softly, don't fight, be friendly, love all, be kind, be punctual, etc.

Later ages, the child turns to be a youth, a crucial age, where teachers and parents need to join hands to groom the child.

It is not and never the children mistake.

It is all in how parents slowly from childhood groomed the child, not getting exposed to odds, a bit strict to live a disciplined life is necessary.

It should not be SPARE THE ROD, SPOIL THE CHILD.

Here rod means, strict discipline, to be firm when it comes to one's character. THE END OF EDUCATION IS CHARACTER.

The parents at home need to groom in such a way regarding the culture prevailing at their respective homes, the upkeeping of their family culture, tradition, values etc. which need to be imparted daily into the children's mind. Parents need to allot time for this purpose, to sit and spend time more on value based teachings. After giving priority to this subject, slightly bend and mend with value games, good music with good lyrics based songs, good story books, etc. The child need not be overdosed with monotonous teachings, without damaging the discipline part, slight moderately educate with latest upcoming.

Allow the child to be happy, enjoy life, but at the same time, from time to time, from childhood keep telling what is right and what is wrong.

LIVE IN THE WORLD

BUT NOT WORLD IN YOU.

HANDS IN THE SOCIETY

HEAD IN THE FOREST.

THIS IS THE WAY TO DISCIPLINE A CHILD.

WHY BLAME THE CHILD.

YOU CAN BEND AND MEND A STEM BUT NOT A TREE.

Last but not least educate on code of dress, how important dress plays a vital role. It gives respect, shows the culture of the person and the family, nobody dare touch the person for any reason, builds up character, dignity, prestige, etc.

Do not go by appearance.

Be dignified.

Woman is compared to three gems, and how valuable is she can be compared with:

The pearl, the gold and diamond.

All three are valuable, preserved beneath the earth, well protected and covered with water and earth. Not easily exposed or available.

So Woman, please understand the depth of the meaning of the lines, "well covered, not easily available, can't take her for granted.

If you live like the three stones,- pearl, gold, diamond, WHO DARE COMES TO TOUCH YOUR CHARACTER.
