What Gives Happiness?

Once there was a king who wanted to know what would make every one of his subjects happy and unhappy. So, he organised an exhibition inviting all the wise men in his kingdom to display various articles which could bring happiness and articles which could bring unhappiness into everyone's

Life

As per the instructions and orders of the king, the wise men displayed the articles accordingly. For happiness articles like flowers, sweets, fruits, books, musical instruments etc.were displayed and for unhappiness, articles like knives, swords, whips, etc.were displayed. None of these appeased the king. At least he came to a coloured model of clay which is the mouth of a person showing the tongue. At the bottom of the model were written two words: "GOOD TONGUE" and. "BAD TONGUE".The king did not understand what the clay model conveyed. He summoned the sculptor of the model for an explanation.

To this, the sculptor answered as follows:-

My Lord, all other things in this exhibition make people happy or unhappy only for some time, but a good tongue-speaking kind, gentle, sympathy, and loving words make others happy for years and years and for all time. Likewise, a bad tongue with harsh, insulting, hurting words can ruin a person's life.

The king was very satisfied with the truth explained by the sculptor.
