Coward

             There was a poor family whose traditional business was tailoring in small village. The master had a spiritual background. Hence he was happy with his three daughters and the youngest son. The son was a normal child having good voice. He would sing all spiritual songs following the family member . He wasn’t much interested in education. But he passed the board examination. Instead of going for higher education, he opted for technical education in the nearest town. He passed the draftsman’s course. At that time , there were no computers for the generation of various types of graphics required in the big scientific organizations. There were few posts of draftsmen in various central government offices in the country. Though he was a very timid young boy, But he was very talkative by nature. Every dog has its day . One of the closest batch mate brought in his notice about vacancies of draftsman in some central government office during general talking when they met each other incidentally in the heart of nearest town. Though he was coward from his childhood, but he noticed the financial crises of family. So, he decided to appear for interview for post of draftsman and accordingly he made application as directed by his friends .Fortunately ,there were very few candidates for interview against the sanctioned post. Hence he got the job very easily. He was posted in a city which was fairly far away from his village, but in the home state. His family wasn’t ready to allow him to join the job. Though his father was spiritual, but he was cleaver to understand the need of hour. He had three daughters to be married soon. He kept stone on his heart and allowed him to join the job. 

After few year, his all sisters get married and were happy in their families. His parent also get his loving son married. Unfortunately, she was most spiritual than all the members of the family. Whole family was engaged in worship with new bride. He left the ancestor place with his wife with the blessing of parent for rejoining the job, after completion of leaves after marriage. He get segregated from his parent. The couple used to leave in the city. His wife used to spent her maximum time in worship of god and goddesses . she had the melodious voice . She was respected by colony people during various religious festivals because of their active participation for delivering hymn and prayer. The couple was very cooperative by nature to help the neighboring families during any casualties or any other problems. The couple was happy. But they had some sadness in some corner of their heart as they had no baby after so many years after their marriage. The couple had still artificial happy appearance on their faces skipping their sorrow.

Nature couldn’t blessed them with baby, but science blessed them with the test tube baby. The family was happy. Their baby was very cleaver. The nature also gifted him with musical skill. He would play Table or tabor as well as guitar very efficiently . His parent provided him the musical instrument of his interest. He used to play these instruments in school as well as in colonial religious and cultural program. But he was interested in education too. He wanted to be software engineer in his life . His father’s plan was to settle himself in his birthplace after retirement . But his wife and son were deeply interested to settle in the same city. There was unanimous decision of construction of their home in the same cityafter long discussion. Master of the family suppressed his emotion and followed the decision of constructing their home in the same city. They had happy and sweet home for them. The son was doing computer engineering in the same city. He successfully completed his graduation with excellent academic record. There was a pandemic after his graduation. Everybody was scared. So he couldn’t get Job soon. when there was normalcy in country after weakening of pandemic, there were so many job opportunities . He was recruited in some soft-ware company with low paid salary in the city. Though his parent was happy with his job ,But he wasn’t satisfied. So, he was trying for another job with handsome salary against parent’s desire .There was family war in above said matter. His parent always kept him in the safe harbor. So he couldn’t develop the dashing attitude in him. He surrendered himself to his parent’s interest as it is to be better safe than sorry . He had job at the same place in the same company with low paid salary. He wasn’t at all happy internally. He would play musical instruments like Tabla and guitar to overcome his unrest and sadness. He used to upload his musical videos on the what’s up group too. 

When pandemic became very mild , he had taken a decision to leave the job. He went for job at Delhi as the ship in the harbor is safe but that is not, what for the ship is?Unfortunately, he came back to home as he couldn’t manage the boss. He decided to go for mass communication courses in one of the metropolitan . But his family background compelled him to come back at his native place .He made effort for another job in the city. He got it with little higher salary than previous job. But, there was a shift duty that put him in trouble similar to his father. He managed only few months in that company. He couldn’t survive there for a longer period. So he rejoined his old company with same old salary. 

There was a policy in the department where his father used to work. When the employees were recruited in cadre of draftsman, they would get promotion in the next scientific cadre after successful completion of departmental training as per their seniority. His father had an allergy in doing technical and scientific work. So, he decided not to be passed the departmental training. However he had completed training successfully in maximum attempts as per provision. Though he was promoted thereafter so many times, but he declined the promotion on family grounds as he was posted at different places. 

                  He was again promoted to the next post nearest to his place of posting. His colleagues made him understand that it was the best opportunity for him. He should enjoy it. They told so many benefits of getting promotion. His colleagues mounted very high pressure on him to accept the promotion. So he decided unwillingly to accept promotion. He joined the place of posting on promotion at new destination leaving his family at his old place of posting. when he saw the nature of technical work and roster duty. He was of the bad impression that he couldn’t perform operational duties. So , he came back to his native place. He requested to the regional head to allow him to join on the same post . But he wasn’t empowered to demote him. His application was forwarded to head quarter for necessary action .But, the administration wasn’t ready to accept his declination. He was on leave for long period. He made several application to accept the declination. After long struggle with the interference of the central union,the headquarter accepted his declination. He was posted on the same post at the old work place with himulation. Next time, he was given a promotion at his place of work. He was bound to accept the promotion, otherwise, he would be transfer to another place on same post. He accepted the promotion with this fear again. As soon as he accepted the promotion, he was posted in roster duty. He managed his rest of time till retirement with burden and fear. This was his father history which was sharply noticed by son. His parent’s cowardness made his efficient son timid. How he would managed his rest of his life with this attitude in the absence of his parent when there were no more in this world.
