Welcome back! It's Maxine again. I’m pretty embarrassed by the story Zack told you guys about me last time. I really can’t paint. But then again, I can do a bunch of things that he can’t. Here’s one when he tried to host a party for our friend Irene before she left for her internship in LA.

“Max! What’s taking so long? Leo and Alexandra are on the guest list, not the sleeping list! Wake them up already,” Zack shouted at me. I had been trying to wake my year old twin siblings, Leo and Alexandra. Zack wanted to check out the ballroom where we were holding Irene’s party with me. But I was babysitting, so I couldn’t leave my victims at home. So we had to wake them up before we could move.

Zack stormed into the room. He lifted Leo, put him in his pram, and said, “Does your highness finally want to host Irene’s party? Move it!” We took ten minutes to reach the ballroom. It was full of balloons. The manager showed us what all was there. There were five hundred balloons on the floor, to cover up the confetti canons that were going to go off as soon as Irene entered. We had to attach a sensor to Irene’s shoe so that they wouldn’t go off randomly. Then the ‘cake’ would be brought in. It was actually hollow, with the real cake inside it. As soon as she cut it, it would be pulled up, and reveal the piñata and the actual cake. We would have dinner, then start on with the games, in the garden.

After all this, I was impressed. Zack had planned an epic, and expensive party for Irene. That’s why all ten of us had to contribute $50 each. We paid the bill and went to get ready.

Zack came over to my house after he got ready to help me get my siblings ready. But he was early, as usual. So he had to help me get ready.

The first thing on my list was makeup. I didn’t let him go near it, on account of my friend, Rachel’s experience, when her uncle found her makeup kit. While I got that done, I asked him to plug my flat iron in, and put it to the lowest heat. He plugged it in alright, but he forgot to change the heat. So when I went into the bathroom to start my hair, I was greeted by smoke. I found the iron and turned it off. Now I was in a fix. I had to straighten my frizz ball hair. So I took aluminum foil, wrapped my hair with it, and had Zack run the iron over them. Then we moved on to Alexandra and Leo.

Zack dressed Leo up and brushed his hair. I, meanwhile, was struggling with Alexandra’s dress. It was a short, purple frock, with a HUGE ribbon I had to tie. I warred with it for some time, then gave up and asked Zack to do it. He took her and gave me some instructions. “Go to Irene’s house. Make her get ready. Her mom knows about the party. All you have to do is get Irene to come with you. Here is the sensor.”

I took it and ran to Irene’s place. Her mom was waiting. She took the sensor and attached it to the shoe. Then off we went.

Meanwhile, Zack had taken the twins to the hall, after losing the battle with Alexandra’s sash. Everything was in order. The cake was here, as were all the guests. The sparklers were in place, so was all the stuff for the games. Except; the hall was double booked! So we were sharing a hall with a bunch of senior citizens. We compromised and got the hall for Irene’s entry, cake cutting, piñata, and dinner, then we would get the garden, just like we booked.

Irene started to hesitate once I blindfolded her. “Where are we going?” “You’ll see,” I said. I took her to the ballroom and undid the blindfold. “Surprise,” we all shouted. I pushed her a bit and the confetti canons started spitting out confetti. She was a huge piece of confetti by the time she reached the cake.

“But guys,” she began, “What’s this for?” “You’re going to LA for an internship. We’ll see you after three years,” I said. “That would be me,” Addison said. “Guys I’m not going anywhere,” Irene laughed.

Poor Zack! Every time he tries to surprise anyone, he just messes up. So ends my story. Gee, I wonder what he’ll do next. Bye!
