What To Do?
What To Do?

It's lockdown time, so we must stay inside
Banned from the outside, banned from the light.
“Social distancing” they repeat and repeat
But staying inside is no easy feat.
The minute school started, I waited for it to end
But it's been so long since I've seen my friends.
For now that it's gone, I miss running around
While teachers roll their eyes, say that we're too loud.
I miss the feeling of sunshine on my face
I miss running with the wind and keeping its pace
I miss the sweet cool of a short pool splash
I miss running my fingers through short brown grass.
With so much time at home, everything is so plain
I’ve done the same thing over and over again
I eat, sleep, drink then repeat it some more
Everything that I do just seems like a bore
So I’m waiting for the moment the lockdown is done
I want to come out and go have some fun
Because once things are over it’s when you truly see
How interesting and special they were to you and me.
