Lock Down Chef

Dear Diary,

Food was just fuel for me,

Meal times went while watching T.V.

Lock down was the time when I realized 

That normal food cooked by mom was a blessing in disguise.

During Lock down dad's work came to a stop

Whereas mom started working non stop.

The meal times increased ass lock down brought time to eat,

At least quarter of the day is spent on the dining seat.

Lock down gave my dad a chance to test his culinary skills

and his dishes are quite frankly making us ill.

His first experiment was the daal

But it was as salty as bitter lake near Suez Canal.

Next he made Aloe Vera juice by using its pulp,

He told u to finish in a gulp.

It tasted like slime yet dad smiled,

And now we get it daily with either beetroot, pepper or ajwain.

Then dad stuck gold with invention of coconut pudding

It won our hearts but dad got bored and called it normal cooking.

The disgusting Giloye Juice was next on his list,

It made Aloe Vera look like a pleasant gift. 

Alas! the lockdown goes on

And dad is experimenting from the crack of dawn

If Quarantine is not over soon

I might be able to survive on weeds too!
