The Waterfall
The Waterfall
At first, I heard a guttural grumbling, or was it a resonating rumbling?!
It was followed by a blustering, booming sound, raucous and roaring.
Then I saw a waterfall, blithesome boisterous, bouncy and buoyant,
It skidded jauntily down the mountain-side--- joyful, jovial and jubilant.
Rushing, dashing, crashing in its ruthless path without a care or concern,
For anything which came in its untrammeled way, rocks, rubble or fern.
It danced along the mountain path, in a shimmering robe of gold.
A thousand diamonds were enclosed in its immaculate pristine fold.
As the sun bathed it in its light, it blushed golden then began to sing,
It hummed as it cascaded down, trilled in ecstasy and began warbling.
It was a picture to behold, a picture to cherish and etch in one’s memory,
The manifestation of God’s magnificent work-- the testimony to His glory.
