The Little Bird

All the bird wants to do is not cause its mom any plight,

When the mother is doing everything she can to help it.

With all the treasures it brings back and all the pieces of food the bird bites,

The little one still finds pieces to spit.

Though the bird is little and doesn't know much,

It knows it's inexperience isn't an excuse to complain.

And it thinks it'll probably never be happy with simple achievements or such,

When what it wants is others' pain.

It was born and it was told to fly to the horizon,

Then it was told to dive for fish.

Then every dream that it had, it was asked to compromise,

To succeed in the hardest and the most common wish.
