Stay Away
Stay Away
Stay away from me, you opaque spirit,
Stay away from me, you demon of the dark,
Stay away from me, till the end of the time,
Stay away and never reach, through the mighty skylark.
For I will not read your letter, henceforth anymore
My letter box lies empty, broken to the core.
It has consumed the venom of waiting for ages,
Now it’s wait is over, awakened by the sages.
I have called the angels who set in motion
All the roaming spirits to cook a potion,
Which would calm my mind and soothe my scar,
And teach us the art of staying afar.
I will not wait for you, neither will I leave,
For I will stay where I was when you had left me.
If at all someday you pass by the rocks
You will see me sitting with an empty letter box.
Nothing will change, nothing will grow
For time has stopped, for the dark shadow.
The little sapling, which was budding when we met,
Has turned into a stone crookedly set.
On the roads to the forest enchanted by your words,
Covered by moss, protected by the lords,
My soul still listens to the sharp promises,
Echoing for eternity in the cruel emptiness.
But the letter box is in peace with it’s mind,
Knowing that one day you will definitely find,
All the unsent letters which have been lying behind,
Neglected and cold at the back of your mind.
Then when you remove the dark cloak of them
To let in the light of a thousand gems,
You will count the time that is gone, which could not be seen,
Still stay away, as you always had been.
