Safe From The Flames
Safe From The Flames

The city was on fire,
Everyone sprinted to the pier,
Smoke was curling in the sky,
Some children started to cry.
The leaves burnt crisp,
Going there was a real risk,
A forest fire had started,
Many trees had parted.
The fire reached the huts,
And burnt all the nuts,
Other valuables had burnt too,
The sky had turned black from blue.
The flames were vermillion hue,
Finally came a ship with a good crew,
Everyone left in a hurry,
Even the mice were told to scurry.
The ground had turned black from green,
To leave the island everyone was keen,
The seabirds screamed as they left the ground,
And there was fear in their sound.
A dark shadow loomed over,
Everyone left, somber.
