The Sun's Vacation

The child of God said to the sun,

You can leave your work is done,

Sun said oh! I was waiting for a vacation,

Where do I have to deposit the letter of resignation?

The child of God said you can give it to me,

Father is whom I am going to see,

The moon is on duty day and night,

It will just keep shining bright.

The sun went away,

So there was no day,

The moon got tired of shining,

So it was resigning.

Darkness engulfed everything,

Nobody could whistle, nobody could sing,

There was nothing to gain,

So the people were in peril and pain.

No one was merry,

Their faces were like a cherry,

To end this there was only one,

Everyone went to meet the sun.

The sun shined all night and day,

To sleep at all there was no way,

They told the moon it had to come,

Finally, they got peace without the night sun.

Oh! The people had such a beautiful balanced day,

They made the sun and moon swear never to go away,

From then on every day and night,

The sun and moon keep shining bright.
