Duty

Every minute & every second

she will be watching me 

as if I am her treasure box

She never put thought

that I am skeleton covered with flesh

She will keep on belling me

 to maintain dignity of the family

 not let out the house matters

 for once the cat is out of the bag

our unity will be auctioned

for she never saw the

public drama’s of the media’s

She used to burn the broom sticks

and kept its ash a black spot

on my cheeks as a mark of

protection against evil eye

thinking that I am a beauty to the core

Never put thought of my normal looks

She was pride of my intelligence

      but never put thought of 

      my average knowledge

She bounded me with love & care

never put thought of freeing me

from her affectionate cage

for she had locked me

with her love key

For my well being she

she observed fasting

did prayers gave offerings

followed blind faiths

never put thought of

my disinterest in all that

For such a unperishable

Innocent love, at last

I myself surrendered to her

In all my future births

let her be my beloved mother
