My Happy Dear Pooch!
My Happy Dear Pooch!
Each time I come home,
Such a warm welcome I get......
Even for a few minutes, I roam,
The same welcome awaits me, I bet!
He is such a happy pooch,
Spreading happiness all over the house.....
He just turned four last month, but looks so huge,
That's how it was so funny to see him scared of a tiny mouse!
He wants me to pet him always,
Loves his walks too much, each and every time,
He gets a treat, a pat and some praise,
That's only when he listens to me at times!
Sometimes he barks so loud when there's no need,
Even though there's someone at the neighbour's gate,
I tell him softly once, loudly again and then I plead,
He has to build up some more good habits, to inculcate!
During the last lockdown, I got stuck in my father's house,
Couldn't come home for fifteen days at a stretch,
Finally, after it was lifted, reached home to my waiting spouse,
It was my pooch who ran up to the gate, for me to fetch!
Then, he ran in circles swiftly, simply dumbfounded,
Showing how happy he was that I was back home,
Seeing him so very happy, left me astounded,
He perched on my lap as if to say, you just stay at home!
I understand every other dog I pass by,
After our Judo has entered our lives,
All their problems I wish, I could rectify,
Instead of allowing them to fend for everything themselves!
