Midnight Memoirs
Midnight Memoirs
It's no longer safe outside
So we took covers inside
Some were told to isolate
Others were forced to quarantine
Our days turned to nights
Even the sun now wakes up whenever he likes.
They said it will be over soon
So long we played by the rules
Mask on, sanitize the paths you walk on
Ensure your shadow stays two meters from you.
It's been over a dozen fortnightsHumanity still lies in state
Things are no longer the same
Since death now bears a new name
Change too, has changed
And life is also afraid of dying.
While I was busy staying safe indoors
I noticed I had begun to notice things
Like how my calendar seem to forget his job,
Time became so bored
And had to challenge the lightening to a run thought my birthday comes in three days
Till I learnt twas yesterday was too surprised to be a surprise
Maybe these too, are some of the symptoms of the disease.
We're lucky to have survived
We're grateful to be alive
We are a different breed of people a whole new life.
