Moonlight Rhymes
Moonlight Rhymes
Twas cool and breezy yesternight,
Some languid minutes after nine
Was strolling by my country's side I won't lie, twas such a lively hive...
The moon was smiling in the sky,
Gifting the earth it's pretty lights
With stars like crystals in the sky
What else could make a perfect night?
I turned my neck from left to right,
And stood a while to heave a sigh The pleasant scenes that caught my eyes,
Just felt they'd make a lovely write...
Some infants chasing fireflies
Clapping their hands across the sky
I caught myself trying to smile
And fantasised being a child...
A mother sang a lullaby,
Cuddling her child between her thighs
Enchanting lovely sleepy rhymes Into her dizzy infant's eyes...
Some damsels swing and sway in style
Swerving their waists from left to right
Shifting my gaze the other side,
I caught some lovers tryna hide.
I swear I wasn't tryna pry
Twas totally a slip of sight,
So when their eyes would catch my eyes,
I feigned a smile and waved them 'Hi'.
Five children wearing Sackless smiles
Oblivious I was standing by
They ran around a burning light
As a dog scampered away in fright...
Sitting across the fire side
Grey hairs who newly lost his sight
He seems to wear an eonian smile
Calling the kids for story time...
This sent some waves across my mind
And made me nearly want to cry Since it's unmanly for guys to cry,
I choked the tears beneath a smile...
I wondered what he's learned from life
That made him smile inspite his plight,
Maybe life's a double-edged knife
To one it's kind, the next unkind?
The truth seems harder than a lie & Dark seems safer than the light
Variety is the spice of life..
What makes me smile, might make you cry.
I chose to do some cutting ties and lay aside my alibis
For what's the true essence of life If you get your cravings all the time.
