Illusion Of Love

You say that you love me but you don't need me,

You say that I should trust but you deceive me.

This is nothing but the pain of you messing with my brain,

There is nothing truly left, there is nothing to really gain.

He isn't a bad guy, he just wants what I consider mine

The both of you just don't realize that ,

There was more invested than time.

You claim you didn't know, that you never saw a sign,

I take this as you again messing with my mind.

Where was he when you was out there all alone,

Calling your ex non stop but he wouldn't pick up the phone.

I wasn't just there, I supported you through and through,

When your heart was breaking who was it that ran to you.

It was me who talked you down off 

Of your emotional ledge

Moved that pain out of your heart 

And those flashbacks out of your head

Ran errands like a fool and made sure,

That you made it there on time.

Did all the things that your man does, 

But you say now that you was never mine.

Who was the original problem, you or your ex

Did I arrive into your life just in time to be served up as next

Maybe I was just another one in a long problematic line

Someone that shows,

Too much caring and respect is not your kind.

An abuser of love is probably your perfect match

Through abusive acts you both may keep your love on track

I wish that I could say, "I survived without a scratch"

I wish that everything invested could,

In some way be taken back.
