Human Indeed (Love)
Human Indeed (Love)
Love is an addiction, euphoric at first glance
But the more you fall in it, the more it ruins you
Love is like a tap of running water
Drink every drop until you’re safe from its dreadful slaughter
Its temporality is blue and the anxiety is golden
Through its fire, you’re born again and soon perished again.
Yet, love’s true meaning still remains unknown,
to all the learned men, and all the wise women
Love is a melancholic piano
With some keys to happiness and some to catastrophe
And playing it is a skill, no one can fully know
The epistemology of love is inscrutable at best
Love is like an unsolvable and arduous test
Very little ace, and miserably fail the rest.
Love is a burdensome hurdle, only a few can cross
Imagine talking all day, and still being unable to put your point across
Love is like a tragically heartwarming film
Love is an endless race, you’ve got to run until
There’s immeasurable pain in your limbs If you stop, you pass out
And people leave you with an unpleasant gift of
The menaces of scrutiny and self-doubt
Love is like a beautifully treacherous storm
The charm lures in first, but it’s all a guileful trap
Its illusion is comforting, but then you’re lost on its erroneous map
Love is like a little boat in the vast blue ocean
And you’re lingering-out of sight, out of motion
But then the night arrives, and winds of insecurity start flowing
You harm the ones you adore and admire the ones who hate you
You take the paint of envy and the brush of coldness
And paint the entire red sky dark cobalt blue
Love is like a deep cave with perpetual darkness
Love is the greatest feeling, loss falls short
Love is meant to terminate in being broken
Just like every other alluring piece of art
Love makes you a lifeless flickering light
Elates you once then frightens you that same cataclysmic night
Love is like gambling, winning in a game of cards,
Comes at the price of losing in the game of life
Love is like swimming in an ocean of crocodiles
of insecurity, jealously, lust, infidelity and desire
Escape them if you can,
or get caught by one of them and burn yourself in that red blue fire
But love is that bountiful feeling that keeps us breathing
It’s as delicate as a just-peeled orange and
Desperately requires your protective sheathing
Hold it tight, I promise you’ll overcome every pity fight
Because love is everything you need and love is what makes you human indeed.
