The Letter Box
The Letter Box
I found myself amongst the woods,
Walking through the endless bliss.
All alone I walked introspecting my deeds,
Little water and ginger biscuits to quench my needs.
I came across a ramshackled house,
Right In front of nowhere.
I kept studying it assuming no one did connive,
I could still feel all the memories alive.
An old-wise tree was guarding the place,
With a letterbox right beside.
Going through a bunch of loosestrifes,
I so wanted to open that box of life.
I wasn’t sure if I was anxious or restless,
As I opened the dirty box.
Chills ran down my spine,
As I saw a letter inside
My loneliness grew as I held the letter,
Time froze as I kept staring at it.
I realized how things die and perish,
But infinite are the bonds we make and the moments we cherish
I smiled as I kept back the letter,
I closed the box, the box of joy.
I gave a last glance at the old shack,
Feeling happy for the family as I turned back.
Later I found myself in my world,
Living the endless bliss
I ain’t alone this time,
Thanks to the journey sublime.
