Drama Tragedy Others

It's Real, Believe me

It's Real, Believe me

It’s real believe, me I can’t keep up,

It all seems irrelevant; it feels like I’m stuck.

It’s not in my head, I actually feel depressed,

In taunts and pressure, I cry and sit wreathed.

School, extracurriculars, height, weight, looks,

I cry looking at my grades, my tears wet my books.

Everyone says it’s in your head, trust me it’s not,

I wept, and yelled, and begged, and fought,

Just because they’re kids doesn’t mean they can’t be depressed,

It’s a mental illness, understand and respect.

They do need support, they do need comfort,

They feel useless, they cry, they yell, they lumber.

Trust me on this one, believe me please,

They do need help, I beg you believe me, I’m on my knees.

Contact a counsellor, on the smallest sign of metal ill-being,

It’s important to them for those kids' wellbeing.

Just because you’re small, he’s big and tall,

That doesn’t mean he’s above us all.

If she calls you names and pushes you around,

Don’t just run away crying and frown.

If they are bossy and dominating,

Don’t just sit sobbing and crying.

You have to act up to make a transformation

You have to try to make a redirection.

The first step is to stand up to the bully,

Tell them this needs to stop and make them agree.

Even if they don’t stop, you can contact a trusted adult,

Together, you, the bully, and the adult can consult.

No matter who bullies you in what way,

You don’t just have to run away.

To fix the problem permanently,

You have to talk and solve the issue wisely.
