Let Love Be

'Love is in the air', often have you heard

For it flows freely like air over people of all gender, creed and place of birth

But it seems it does not apply to everyone

For them the saying is all absurd

They are humans.

I wish I could fill this in all our heads.

They breathe, cry and smile.

Like us, even when vile.

Scraping off of Section 377 represents a groundbreaking change.

For people having an unequivocal emotional range.

For they have been through Hell on earth.

Abused, beaten, traumatized since birth.

Afraid are they, will they be accepted?

Will there be anyone who will be melted?

Yearned all along for love and respect

Wail they, "Is humanity even a concept?"

I ask these highly evolved Homo sapiens sapiens.

I demand, "Why are we such heartless wretches?"
