She chose to fly with her fears
Rather than fall with her dreams
All her life, she had dreaded
To be the girl she dreamt
She wanted to be free and fierce
With no one supporting her, standing at her rear
Oh, but she couldn't be so
She was told, "You have to always bow low"
She couldn't be her true-self
She was a pacified warrior while she wished to be an upheaval
Oh! The mountains she wished to climb
How the carriage of her life, she wished to drive!
Down into the serene waters she wished to go
Slowly and steadily she wished to grow
There was a world she had to explore
But all she could think was, "I have a garden to mow"
How she had challenged everything before
Now, she was a dead fish going with the flow
She had loved the twinkling stars of the night
But now she had to be awake to prepare herself to serve others before the sun was bright
How she had loved the chirp of thumping, the blood venturing through her heart
Now it was all quietude, till very far
With a new smile, she used to start her day
Fighting billion problems on her way
Now her smile is a mere crease
She moves on with the cold sulky breeze
She held a galaxy within her soul
Her warmth was deserved by those, who loved her cold
Now she is all but alive
In the same galaxy, she lost herself, directed by others now, she is just trying to strive
She couldn't do this anymore, she realized
She was a free bird, not meant to be caged
She was determined to break free from the shackles of the society
She was now going to be the girl how it was envisioned by the almighty
Pleasing others was a divine task
She could no longer wear the false facade
With obstacles, her wings would now be heavy
But her heart would no more be guilty
She chose to fly with her fears
Rather than fall with her dreams
