Fangs Of Jealousy
Fangs Of Jealousy
Words, writings, verses,
Introduced you to me;
Ripening the camaraderie
through subsequent posts, often seen.
The verbose chats, loaded with infinite knowledge
Unfolded your ideas and thought,
gradually, drawing the strings of my mind
Towards the world of poetry.
In times to come,
The skills got polished;
Mine, as an amateur
Gathered little praise.
Gladdened by the ability
to pen down the repertoire of my expressions
I shared a few instances,
Faltering steps of my growin
g phase.
Unaware, was I, of a latent competition,
that had been cooking up in your mind;
Spiced up with a handful of fake appreciation,
laced with sweet smile,
A peculiar response came from you,
dished as a token, from a friend, so special.
Slightly surprising, but it didn’t affect me-
though I got a warning for future:
That, from now on, I must restrain myself before you,
As you are not my old friend, whom I looked up to,
but just an ordinary person, bitten by the fangs of jealousy.
