Drizzling to Downpour
Drizzling to Downpour
For an hour, or so, it kept drizzling, as if
to announce, the commencement of monsoon season;
What followed the gentle drops was a heavy downpour,
Putting a halt to all activities, with bittersweet treason.....
Futile it was to quarrel with the moist buffeting breeze
And glower at the dark sky!
The grey overcast of the nimbus above warned
Of impending torrents, deliberately attempting to annoy.
The soft, cool droplets of rain, caressed her face,
Sliding gradually to the chiselled neckline;
the naughty foreplay of the raindrops,
It was potentially intoxicating, as a quaff of wine.
An hour it took, and.. the marvellous monsoonal drizzle
Ushered us into the season of rains;
The gentle drops turned into a heavy downpour,
Quenching the thirst of sun-baked earthy terrain.
