HAD NOTHING BUT YOU, NOW EVERYTHING BUT YOU!!

You promised to never leave,

But you hardly stayed.

Thought you would be the landlord,

Yet you chose to be a tenant!

Memory being a blessing in disguise,

I haven't coped up with

Brushing your thoughts away,

Yet forget the art of forgetting!

It's this perfect view of life,

That I wished to look through your eyes.

Later struck a realisation

That God hadn't gifted me empty sockets!

Had we not crossed paths in my journey,

I wouldn't have had a trespasser like you,

Who taught me to wriggle through the maze and

Move beyond the captivating cover of the woods!

Were it you by my side,

I would have had a hand to hold,

A shoulder to lie on and weep,

A caring soul that looked out for me anytime,

Keen ears that couldn't complain of all my babble,

And all the more that would have kept me warm and safe.

But now that all those cores rest on me,

I've nurtured to handle and love me better!!

I live despite your absence in my life

And realised that my heart pumps just for me.

Baggage left behind were

Coldness towards acquaintances,

Doubtful endeavours and bounded detours,

Aloof to the world,

Yet a living miniscule of love

That can connect, empathize and emote!!

No touch yet feel,

Dead yet alive,

Not here but still there,

Nothing to be scared of

Because of all the scars!!

Now the battle ahead is only

Between me and life.

I win, the victory is mine!

I lose, the learning is mine!!
