Truth And Lies
Truth And Lies

They taught me to fear the dark
They forgot to mention what happens in the light
A day out in this world
Where one could do nothing but fight.
It all starts from the very moment
She sees the light
But that would be the last time
She was made to see something this bright.
Her eyes put to sleep
And cut her wings before she took flight.
Walk the streets and you will find
The sights of horrors
Visible even to the blind
A dozen here, a dozen there
No place to live
No people to care.
Monsters on the road,
Monsters behind the chair,
These cruel pervert minds,
Not a woman they spare.
It's your fault they say,
Walking on the road looking like that
And putting yourself on 'display'.
Or for speaking out
For unfair means, but then again
You 'need' a man throughout
Too short,too long
Too thin too fat
Change your mindset
Or you'll end up looking like that.
You speak up,
Your voices drown.
You shut up,
You face his frown
Only a daughter, a wife or mother
As long as she she cooks
One has nothing to bother
They taught me to fear the dark
They forgot to mention what happens in the light
A day out in this world
Where one could do nothing but fight.
