Eternal Souls
Eternal Souls
Autumn lacks the hue of viridium
But the colours are more.
With you in the fading dusk
Gazing out of life’s door.
The passions of youth,
Do burn bright.
But these old eyes,
Abhor too much light.
Envy not, hot blood’s flow
Dying embers have their own glow.
Tides of emotion, in new love swarm
Old love a still lake, clear and warm.
The last flickers of my flame
Let it burn in your name.
Your blossoms were for the world
The dried petals, let me claim.
The time clocks in our heart beats
And there are so few left.
Let me rob some moments of you
My last sin, my grand theft.
This old age, these last wisps
This empty cup, these last sips.
Your demure eyes, my temerity
Our souls together for the eternity.
